Thanks to my new keycard, courtesy of being nice to Ms. Kay Warner and jumping though the right hoops, I'm pretty sure I can now get into most any room in the INSC I'd ever care to go. I'm also listening to Homogenic in new pants that have tasted the wrath of my right-leg-of-pants-consuming bicycle and escaped unscathed. Unfortunately, this caused me to have to stop right next to a couple of people fixing the walkway that leads to Founders' Green, and basically look like I was spying on them, when in fact I was merely attempting to dislodge my pants from my bicycle.

Homogenic is full of crunchy, orchestral, atmospheric glory, and if you're into that sort of thing, should provide hours of entertainment. Seeing as my copy is burned, I might have to spring for the Japanese version, which has sixteen tracks, as limited as my springing capacity is. So, I've scheduled an appointment with my dean. Most excellent. Now, all that remains is the rest of my messy, messy life. I'm on a cup of icecreamed coffee (with apologies to my gastrointestinal tract), and as a consequence, should actually be a service to Spoon and Aaron, when I decide to return to E-Haus and actually start cooking. My only hope is that it'll carry me through the evening showing of Perro del Hortelano.

I'm seriously considering returning my new toy, unless some sort of firmware update can fix its ass right quick. It's a tiny computer, and though that's nice as far as its ability to read MP3s, it's not so great when you don't want a tiny little blip between continuous tracks on a CD. ::snarl:: Moreover, the lower antishock setting is largely worthless, as it only serves to delay the digital chaos by (you guessed it) forty seconds. That's shitty programming, and fairly embarrassing. At least hide the flaw by setting the default antishock time to 180 seconds. Oh, but wait, that would expose the shamefully poor battery life. It's main virtue is its amazing sound. I should listen to more of my music; I'm feeling compelled to DJ another party, thanks to "Alarm Call." Go on, try to stand still.

Work only continues to pile up, but my spanish reading should be facilitated by the fact that the book I'm reading is, in fact, supposed to be funny, and that I'm not just vastly misinterpreting something that ought to be tragic. Going to Lame Ducks yesterday probably wasn't a good idea, but once footage of me eating SHIT and taking a monumental spill hits the internet, I'll feel validated. Back to the drawing board as to how the hell I'm supposed to skate.

Music of the moment: Bjork - Pluto
Current mood: Short-lived blur-of-activity
