@#@&$ !!!
Yeah, it really is the most annoying task ever. I've always had a temper, and tended to take it out on inanimate objects. Not even my goddamn laptop is safe from that, as costly as it is. However, these little samples totally frustrate this impulse; I can't do anything to them. They're the most sensitive things ever. I can't even touch them without UHV-clean gloves and a goddamn grounding strap on so I don't staticshock them and burn them out. Hell, they're so static sensitive I have to keep two little cartridges that spew out fucking alpha particles so the air can't accrue enough electrons for me to accidentally have build up on my clammy gloved fingers. I HAVE TWO LUMPS OF FUCKING POLONIUM RIGHT NEXT TO MY HANDS SO I DON'T BURN OUT THESE CHIPS.

Anyway.

I messed up and shorted out a sample chip last night (I stayed at work until 1:20 or so, though it wasn't as rigorous as that. Mostly waiting for things to come out of the oven) after getting off to such a pleasant start. Walter was magnificently understanding, though, which is most excellent. Perhaps I should have dabbed it with acetone and ethanol, I don't know. It's too late now, and it's all gummed up with even more epoxy, since I'm clumsy clumsy clumsy. I really am fond of the epoxy, though. It's totally vacuum safe, conductive, and smells like peanut butter. I'm getting pretty good at mixing out ever-smaller amounts, too.

I slept like a rock, though a little too long. Mercifully, I woke up 2 hours earlier today than I did yesterday, and so got into work only 80 minutes late (I'm absurd), and probably won't have to stay past 6 or so. I can't find my borrowed-from-Anne copy of the fifth Harry Potter book, which is pretty unfortunate, 'cause I just finished the fourth one (holy shit) and crave more. My veins are hungry, J.K. Rowling, and you'd do best not to upset them.

I love You. You make me happier than anyone else ever has. Being in a working, harmonious relationship with You is just pure amazing, when I stop and just think, just reach back and touch it, just allow myself to feel it. Just thought You'd like to know.

As it is, it's lunchtime, and the gang's going to Lee's Hoagies. How could I say no to that?
