[ ...and not a moment too soon ]

I have fulfilled two life goals in the past couple of days. Modest though they may be, they definitely bear mentioning:

1. On Saturday night (Sunday morning, really), Jenn and I saw The [reunited] Pixies in concert. This easily ranks among the best shows I've been to. A full rundown will await an lengthier window of time, but "disappointed" would come in towards the bottom of a list of adjectives I would choose to describe the show.

2. Thanks to the new laptop's on-board wireless card and 45 minutes of wrestling with Jenn's wireless network, I can say with pleasure (and a fair amount of delight in the déclassé) that I have surfed the web while taking a shit. It was everything I'd imagined it to be. Broadband being amazing enough as it is to me (given the family's years of dialup), effectively-placed wireless has me gawking like a yokel at the bright shiny future, though I suppose childlike fascination would be a more accurate (and favorable) description.

Music: Slowdive - Pygmalion. Imagine one part Souvlaki to two (if not three) parts Underworld's "Tongue" (found on the stellar Dubnobasswithmyheadman). In the who-predated-who lineup, Underworld beats Slowdive by as much as a year.
